Job Description
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate production, maintenance and training associated with Plinkit-hosted library web sites.
2. Provide consultation and training to libraries on best practices for use of technology to enhance services, including instructional technology and presentation tools, web, screencasting and podcasting, and electronic resources.
3. Evaluate existing and emerging technologies that could be used by libraries to serve their patrons more efficiently and effectively.
4. Contribute to design and creation of training modules for libraries, occasionally creating content from scratch or using content provided by various State Library units.
5. Advise libraries on technology planning in conjunction with E-rate support provided centrally by other CDE staff members.
6. Contribute to the development of technology aspects of public library and school library standards.
7. Develop, maintain, and administer intranet and project sites in support of Colorado library organizations and initiatives.
8. Advise on protocols and standards for the development and delivery of online training for Colorado library organizations and the State Library.
9. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Additional Info & Requirements
-Willingness to do some in-state travel (mostly day trips, occasionally overnight).
-Experience with HTML and CSS, including the ability to hand code as well as use and train staff on the use of web site editing applications.
-Experience with basic digital image manipulation and basic audio editing.
-Experience developing and delivering online and face-to-face instruction and training.
-Strong background in customer service required.
Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Ability:
-Experience with the use and/or administration of a content management system. Joomla strongly preferred.
-Knowledge of current educational technology and/or instructional design.
-Experience with digital video editing.
-Strong project management skills.-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Able to work independently and as part of a team.
-Able to prioritize independently and identify when to seek input in setting priorities.
-Professional library experience, including technology use, in a school, public, academic, and/or state institutional library.
