Job Description
BCR seeks a dynamic, service-oriented person to join the Marketing & Outreach team on a temporary basis through December 31, 2008, as a Product Support Specialist. The Marketing & Outreach team at BCR is responsible for relationships with vendor partners; ordering, renewing and billing for products and services available at a discount through BCR; and marketing BCR and all BCR product and service offerings. The Product Support Specialist is responsible for providing superior customer service to member libraries and maintaining strong relationships with vendor partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Handles all aspects of sales and services to members for a variety of products and services, including ordering, renewals, follow-up calls, shipping and billing.
• Provides telephone and e-mail support for member questions. Assists members with troubleshooting product problems and guides members through ordering processes.
• Maintains working relationship with vendor partners. Acts as a liaison between the member and the vendor partner. Works with BCR’s Operations group to make sure vendor partner invoices are accurate prior to release for payment.
• Uses appropriate methods (i.e. email, mail, RSS feeds, electronic newsletters, listservs) to notify members of renewal cycles, problems or solutions.
• Maintains up-to-date vendor partner, product and member information via standardized organizational methods.
• Provides support on products and services to BCR staff “in-the-field” from across the organization including ordering, renewal and billing issues information. Serves as backup for Marketing & Outreach team staff responsible for traveling.
Additional Info & Requirements
This temporary position terminates December 31, 2008• Some college coursework required.
• Previous experience supporting electronic software products.
• Experience working in a library, library consortium or other nonprofit organization is desirable.
• Working knowledge of computers and software, especially Microsoft Office Suite – including Word, Excel, Access – and Internet software including Web browsers and HTML.
• Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in detailed work.
• Flexibility in adapting to a variety of work assignments.
• Good organizational, research, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Fast learner with strong information retention abilities.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Requires clear speaking ability – ability to speak and hear over a telephone.
• Keyboarding ability.
• Skill in filing and processing data.
• Ability to work independently.
