The Public Library of Brookline is seeking a dynamic, innovative Librarian III with strong technical expertise and supervisory skills to manage the Collection development for the Library. Under the administrative direction of the Library Director, the Librarian III - Supervisor of Collection Development manages Library Collections and the Technical Services Department operations, managing up to 10 staff members; allocates the yearly Town and Trust Fund monies for the materials budget and assigns subject areas for collection purchases. Checks quarterly that funds are used within guidelines.
Qualifications:
Masters of Library and Information Science, supplemented by additional training in library technology, and five to seven years of public library experience is required. Supervisory experience required, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job. Knowledge of foreign language in Spanish, Chinese, or Russian is desirable.
