The Mason Square Branch Library is one of the busiest in our beautiful city! Help set the vision for the branch and play an important role in carrying it out. The branch is a lovely midcentury building with a large Community Room for programming and performances. Outside you'll find our community gardens, more programming space, and a freshly painted mural, part of Fresh Paint Springfield's mural festival. The branch is truly the hub of the neighborhoods that surround it. See inside here.
The Supervisor at our Mason Square Branch Library is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the everyday functioning of the library. This includes staff supervision, public interaction, programming, facility management, and administrative duties. Work is performed with latitude in the exercise of independent initiative and judgment and in collaboration with the Branch Manager. Supervision is exercised over a team of six people.
The Supervisor engages with the community, manages and helps staff the reference and public service areas, plans and implements programming, and oversees the building and reports any facility problems.
The annual salary for this challenging and rewarding job is $58,626, with a generous benefits package available after a six month probationary period. The City recently added celebration of Juneteenth to its list of paid holidays. When you apply, please include a cover letter so we can get to know you.
