The McGoogan Health Sciences Library at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, NE seeks an innovative and collaborative Community Outreach and Health Systems Librarian to join a team of faculty education and research librarians.
The Community Outreach and Health Systems Librarian provides research and education services to University of Nebraska Medical Center and partner teaching hospitals and coordinates the library’s health information resource service and community engagement activities. Responsibilities include providing continuing education and professional development instruction for health professionals; leading train-the-trainer and direct instruction for community members and community outreach partners; coordinating the library’s health information resource service for Nebraska residents and Nebraska patients; coordinating community engagement activities; and serving as a liaison to Nebraska Medicine and Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.
Library faculty participate in campus service and receive support to pursue professional development. This is not a tenure-leading faculty position, but library faculty may elect to pursue tenure or promotion. On-the-job training is provided and encouraged.

- Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with community partners.
- Experience developing and presenting educational sessions on health information.
- Master’s Degree in library/information science from an ALA-accredited institution or other relevant advanced degree.
