The temporary Special Collections Instruction and Outreach Librarian collaborates with faculty, librarians, and students on innovative instruction and research services. Fosters a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and approaches their work with the capacity to share knowledge about special collections items. These include but are not limited to artists’ books, archives, and other materials in Special Collections in RISD’s Fleet Library.

Four month position, February 15 - June 15, 2022
Rhode Island School of Design is looking for a temporary Special Collections Instruction and Outreach Librarian to join its Fleet Library for the Spring 2022 academic semester. The Fleet Library is a place for inquiry and inspiration, occupying the first and second floors of 15 Westminster Street. With over 100,000 books and periodicals, institutional archives, special collections, artists' books, material samples and picture collection, the library provides the RISD community with access to a wide range of digital resources, along with professional expertise to help navigate both online and physical resources for classroom instruction, individual research support, and creative work.
