Job Description
This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a team of knowledgeable, deeply engaged and loving librarians in a culturally and programmatically diverse university.
Anticipated Responsibilities
- Provide in-person and online library users with on-demand guidance on the discovery and optimal use of information resources and library services
- Meet with and provide extended one-on-one research consultations upon request by students, faculty or staff
- Assist in handling library service desk operations such as borrowing transactions for tangible library resources
- Oversee library user behavior to help assure their understanding of and compliance with library and university policies
Additional Opportunities
- Provide classroom instruction on library research skills, either in-person or online through videoconferencing tools such as Zoom and Teams
- Collaborate with librarians and faculty on digital scholarship and digital archiving projects
Minimum Education
- MLS (or current enrollment in an ALA-accredited MLS program)
Preferred Experience
- 9 months or more providing on-demand reference services, ideally in an academic library
Anticipated Hours
- Sun 2:30-10 p.m.; Thu 1:30-9 p.m. (additional hours TBD in collaboration with top candidate)

- 12 weeks, starting Feb 1, 2022
