Job Description
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide reference services including instruction and assistance to library users, staffing the reference desk, collection development, and participating on the reference team. Instruction and outreach to the Mines community are an important part of this position. Some evening and weekend hours are required. The position serves as a liaison to academic departments and on committees for the Library, the university, and other organizations, contributes to the profession, engages in scholarship, and participates in special projects as assigned.

Either a bachelor’s degree in a science/engineering field or experience in science/engineering librarianship.

Preference will be given to applicants with backgrounds that include:
• Academic libraries;
• Reference experience;
• Instruction and outreach; or
• Experience in a science or engineering setting.
The Community
The Library supports the information and educational needs of Mines, primarily in science and engineering, and provides technical information to the regional community.
