Job Description

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) seeks a user-oriented public services librarian to serve in the position of Reference and Instruction Librarian for STEM.

Reporting to the Head of Reference & Instruction, the Reference & Instruction Librarian for STEM provides high-quality reference, instruction, collection development, and outreach services to the LMU Community, with a particular emphasis on LMU’s Seaver College of Science and Engineering. The successful candidate must have a degree, background, or interest in Science or a related field and be willing to continue upgrading their knowledge, skills, and abilities. This librarian serves as the lead provider of information literacy instruction and web-based research material in support of undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Science and Engineering. Additionally, this librarian works on the Information Desk, participates in virtual reference, provides library instruction for the first-year Rhetorical Arts course, and assists with Reference Department projects, assessment, and decision-making.

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$82,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
