Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level. Required skills Library Science or related degree. Knowledge and experience with Library processes and practices, organizational skills, ability to work independently ability to work within a team (SSCs 3 library system plus Corporate Libraries), task flexibility. Desired skills MLS (Masters, Library Science) degree, Knowledge of research databases, particularly scientific, experience in Corporate Library environment, experience in on line databases – Sharepoint, Eng Village, CSA, Dialog ect. Proficient with electronic resources. Familiarity with government documents, particularly NASA, DOD specifications and standards. Experience with LiveLink for Libraries.

Determines types of technical literature searches and sources of information to satisfy the scientific information needs of researchers and staff within the company. Conducts searches of technical literature, analyzes and evaluates data, extracts pertinent information, prepares information abstracts and bibliographies of material searched. Maintains extensive knowledge of literature resources and continuous contacts with local, national, and international information centers and agencies. Maintains and improves information retrieval capabilities. Assists in the selection of literature for inclusion in the library's collection and may translate foreign technical literature. Keeps abreast of developments in areas of interest to the company and periodically consults with researchers and other information users to ensure maximum usefulness and service.
