The Library Director plans and directs public library services for the City of Seaside. With oversight of a nine-member staff, the director also works directly with a Library advisory board, all other library boards and committees, non- profit boards, city department heads, and other community groups to ensure that the library continually evolves to meet community needs. It is expected that the Library Director have a working knowledge of all aspects of library services as well as overseeing the development and implementation of the library strategic plan, operational policies, department budget, overall operations of the library, and building maintenance needs. The City Council appoints a Library Advisory Board who advises the Library Director and City Council on policy. The Library Director works under the direction of the Assistant City Manager.
