Beyond its extensive physical catalog, there also is its popular event programming for people of all ages, digital assets, talented staff and a soon-to-be state-of-the-art facility in the historic downtown district.
The City of Columbus is looking for a driven and hardworking leader to becomes its next full-time Library Director. This person will help write the next chapters in the library’s rich history as it prepares to move into the voter-approved Columbus Community Building, which will also be home to City Hall, a children’s museum, a local coffee shop and more, later this year.
This highly responsible administrative professional will work in planning, organizing and directing all public library and information services activities of the public library. The director serves as the chief administrative officer for the Library Board and is charged with implementing policies and programs of the Board. For the benefit of its citizens, work is performed with wide latitude in interpreting policies, rules and regulations under the guidance of the Library Board and the policy and administrative direction of the City Administrator.
Supervision is exercised directly or through subordinates over all library employees.
