The Town of Bourne, an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer, is hiring an Information
Systems Librarian at the Bourne Library. The Information Systems Librarian must perform highly
technical and responsible duties involving the maintenance of the library’s computer systems and the
training and education of library users, including library staff and the general public. This includes
planning, developing and integrating the use of technology in all aspects of library services. Promotes
and provides exemplary customer service to patrons and staff. Provides positive and proactive
reference and information services for patrons, using a variety of resources in both print and electronic
formats.
Qualifications and Education
Master’s in Library Science (MLS) / Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an
American Library Association (ALA) accredited library school; an equivalent Master’s degree;
Minimum of two years of public library experience working in an automated library; Experience with
library automated systems (preferably KOHA) required. Experience in computer troubleshooting,
server administration and networking.
Full/Part Time & Hours
Full time position (37.5 hours/week) Tuesday through Saturday, with one evening shift. (Summer Schedule is Monday - Friday with one evening shift)
Salary
Starting $26.50/hour ($51,675 / year)
