This professional position is responsible for the overall technical management of all aspects of the statewide integrated library system (ILS) supporting automated system operations for over 100 libraries in the WYLD consortium. The position leads the WYLD support team and oversees the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the ILS.

- Participate in all aspects of ILS support including support incidents, custom programming using APls, and integration with third-party products such as the interlibrary loan platform, discovery layer, and other products used by statewide customers.
- Coordinate and participate in ILS software upgrades, new product implementations, and testing by statewide members.
- Recommend new products, services, customizations, and solutions.
- Recommend development priorities.
- Assist libraries with the setup and integration of peripheral hardware and other services related to the library system.
- Create technical documentation for all aspects of the library system as needed.
- Identify and communicate software functionality issues or request enhancements for the library system software and discovery layer to vendors.
- Create training materials related to the ILS and deliver in-person or remote training for library staff as needed.
- Evaluate upgrades and test all custom work to ensure continuity.
- Explore solutions designed to improve the user experience with the Discovery Layer (library catalog)
- Oversee the coordinated scheduling of all lLS reports.
- Modify delivered reports to meet individual library requirements.
- Create custom reports as needed.
- Maintain awareness of developments in library services and emerging technologies.
- Assist management teams in preparing usage data for planning purposes.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of Library Science principles and practices including reference services and information management.
- Knowledge of library technologies including database design, indexing, and maintenance; library application workflows and end-user accessibility and usability.
- Knowledge of web design skills and languages such as HTML, CSS, and PHP.
- Knowledge of principles of resource sharing.
- Knowledge of Internet technologies as applied to libraries.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop strategies for resolution
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Library Science)
Experience:
0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Library Science) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Library Technical Analyst
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Library Science) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Library Technical Analyst
