The Oshkosh Public Library is seeking a full-time dedicated, collaborative, customer-focused Collection Development and Acquisitions Librarian to coordinate all aspects of developing a well-balanced collection for all ages. The desired candidate would supervise all aspects of the library’s effort to offer a wide variety of educational and entertaining content (physical and digital) to customers; coordinate collection development policies and collaborate with library staff to assess and meet customer needs; oversee the allocations and expenditures of the materials budget as well as all phases of the library materials acquisitions process.
Activities required to manage this collection include: reading reviews and monitoring other sources of information to identify content for inclusion; initiating orders to purchase copies of physical materials or license access to digital resources; maintaining control over expenditure budgets allocated for acquiring library content; tracking the use of the collections to better understand current and future needs of the community; and de-selecting content that is no longer meeting those needs.
As part of our library teams, this librarian will interact with other librarians and lead regular meetings; act as a liaison with library materials vendors; provide support to catalogers in maintaining and cataloging records in the SirsiDynix ILS; as well as communicate with Winnefox Library System staff to maintain aspects of the SirsiDynix acquisitions module.

Oshkosh Public Library has a physical collection of over 260,000 items and provides a full range of services to 82,000 area residents from a historically significant building. Oshkosh is situated in east-central Wisconsin, on the western shore of Lake Winnebago.
