
The Pawtucket Public Library is seeking to hire a part-time Adult Services Librarian whose responsibilities include assisting adult and teen library users at the Reference Desk, planning and presenting programs for adults, advertising programs and services, representing the library in the community and participating in ongoing educational opportunities. The applicant should have a strong service oriented philosophy to work in a busy public library that serves a multi-ethnic community. Examples of current programs are Adult LGBTQ+, Spanish and Adult Book Clubs, Adult Summer Reading Program, Writers’ Workshops, Author Talks, and Craft Workshops. Hours: Monday and Wednesday 3 pm to 9 pm and alternate Friday/Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. Must have received a degree within six months of start date.

The City of Pawtucket has a diverse population of 75,604. It was the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and as such has a rich industrial history. Samuel Slater's cotton spinning mill located on the banks of the Blackstone River in Pawtucket is part of the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park. Today many of the former manufacturing mills have become home to artists and their art.
