Position Summary | Provides research and library instruction support to the campus community. Designs and implements outreach activities, engages faculty regarding reserves and loans, integrates information literacy and library resources into curricula, and advocates for open educational resource adoption by collaborating with departmental colleagues and campus partners. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students. |
Hiring Range | Starting salary is fixed at $50,455 |

Description of Key Responsibility | Collaboration and Partnership through Outreach: Collaborates with library colleagues, department heads, the Director of Libraries, and campus partners to promote engagement and utilization of library spaces, resources, and services, contributing to the library’s larger strategic vision by utilizing relevant media and marketing technologies and practices. |

Description of Key Responsibility | Research & Instruction: Plans, develops, presents and evaluates instructional, information literacy seminars on library resources to on campus and online students, faculty and staff. Provides research support to the community through various means such as in-person Research Desk interactions, personal research consultations, chat interactions, phone inquiries, etc. |

Description of Key Responsibility | Collection Development & Liaison Duties: As a subject selector and liaison, solicits input from departmental faculty, and also selects independently, to develop both print and digital collections; also participates in collective budget management strategies. Maintains both physical and e-resource reference, special and subject collections, organizes inventory and weeds outdated and/or damaged materials. |

Description of Key Responsibility | Team Management: Contributes to the supervision of a team of student employees by fostering their growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and services aligned with the institution’s mission and goals. At times will orient, train, and direct the activities of paraprofessionals. |

Description of Key Responsibility | Professional Engagement: Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skills relevant to academic libraries, including current trends in higher education, information technologies and strategies, and pedagogical approaches by engaging with professional literature and/or through active participation in voluntary University service, publication, presentations, and membership in relevant professional organizations. |

Description of Key Responsibility | Other: Assists with all functions of the Circulation Unit including desk coverage, direction, shelving and library opening and closing procedures on a back-up basis. Performs other duties as assigned. |

Education | Master’s Degree of Library Science from an A.L.A accredited institution (or recognized equivalent) preferred; or a relevant master’s degree in a related discipline and three years of experience working in an academic library setting. |
