Student Assistant II--Data Archiving

This position will design and manage a data system archive for engineering and aeronautical documentation for the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).
It will be responsible for data entry and the design of archival systems that allow users to quickly access data archive storage devices or data archiving plans for easy retrieval and more cost-effective information storage.
Compensation Min - Mid Range:
Hourly Rate: $22.36
Job Location: Boulder, CO, and Broomfield, CO (The individual will be working between both offices)
Job Type: In Person All of the work in this position description must be performed on-site at UCAR campuses.
Position Type & Term: 6-Month Term
This position must work up to 20 hours per week during school sessions and up to full-time during breaks. The total number of hours worked may not exceed 1,000 during any 12-month period.

Key Responsibilities:
May meet and train with library staff to ensure data integrity
Works with technical staff to gather documentation information to be archived.
Scans, names, and archives information as directed and according to established naming conventions.
Enters data accurately in appropriate systems.
Sets up/troubleshoots equipment, software, or hardware as needed or required.
Maintain data integrity and preservation
Education & Experience REQUIRED:
Must be enrolled (or intend to enroll in the next regular session) in an accredited secondary school, post-secondary school, college, or university.
NOTE: Must be enrolled for the entire duration of the position term to qualify
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities REQUIRED:
Knowledge of metadata standards and frameworks
Experience with information management systems/databases
Experience with digitization projects at various scales
Familiarity with tools like Photoshop and Acrobat
Strong Organizational skills
Experience with archiving technical documentation
Skill using Windows or Apple OS in a networked computing environment.
Skill in using common office tools such as MS Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Acrobat
Ability to use virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet).
Familiarity with scanning equipment and software
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Willingness to ask questions for clarification and to seek feedback.
Willingness to work and collaborate with staff from diverse backgrounds and disciplines
Experience with electronic filing.
