HEAD OF CIRCULATION/INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY
The Head of Circulation/Information Technology Technician reports to the Library Director. Circulation Clerks report to the Head of Circulation. Duties include performing all circulation functions, and training, scheduling and supervising Circulation staff. This position also provides a reliable, accurate responsive, efficient, safe and secure information systems platform for library service delivery. He/she responds to staff calls for help, troubleshoots and solves hardware and software problems, monitors overall system performance and implements improvements. A high school diploma, computer skills, and a great patron service attitude are required; library experience and familiarity with Windows 11, peripherals, and Koha and Aspen are preferred.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Experience with Koha/Aspen, Patron Point, Image Assist, Deep Freeze by Faronics, Microsoft Office, college or technical training in computer science
Other preferred knowledge and skills: willingness to learn, critical thinking , self-motivation, troubleshooting acumen, and curiosity about IT systems and practices
SALARY RANGE AND HOURS
The position is full-time, at 35 hours per week, with some nights and weekends required. The salary range is $40,000-$52,900. Medical, dental, retirement, vacation, and sick time benefits are included.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to often walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch to floor level, reach to a height of 66 inches, climb, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 25 pounds) including library materials, carts and furniture; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to communicate verbally and in writing.
Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment; incumbents may be required to work evenings and weekends.

Ability to maintain privacy of patron records and material selections
General familiarity with libraries
Ability to place items in alphabetical and numerical order using the Dewey Decimal System
Ability to read print
Ability to work patiently and amicably with staff and patrons of all ages
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures
