Custodian
Role:
Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the library.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
85% - CLEANING – Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes, shampoos, washes, and dusts surfaces including floors, furniture, restrooms, drinking fountains, windows, walls, screens, restrooms, toilets, and office equipment in the library in order to keep the appearance and cleanliness to expectations. (Essential)
5% - SUPPLIES – Stocks and orders cleaning and repair supplies. (Essential)
5% - SNOW REMOVAL – Removes snow from entrances, steps, and walkways. (Essential)
5% - OTHER DUTIES – Monitors and trains community service workers and moves furniture in order to ensure the smooth operation of the department. (Non-Essential)
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Completion of the 10th grade and some previous custodial experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, which provides the critical success factors.
Experience:
Knowledge of the safe and correct use of custodial equipment and cleaning supplies.
Or any combination of education and experience which provides the success factors.
