An employee in this position is responsible for assisting the Library Director in the advancement and implementation of special projects throughout the library system. The Special Projects Liaison serves as a point of contact between library leadership and special project partners and oversees the day to day needs of special project throughout all phases of the project, from development to implementation and evaluation. The Special Projects Liaison’s role will vary as projects are introduced and completed.
- Assists with the development, implementation, daily oversight, and evaluation of Special Projects for the public library.
- Keeps the Library Director or their designee, as well as all project partners, informed on the status of special projects.
- Under direction of the Library Director or their designee; as well as any project partners - prepares, markets, presents, and evaluates aspects of special projects.
- Participates in publicity and marketing of items related to special projects and including writing library related columns in local publications. Tracks the impact of special projects in the community.
- Serves as a working member of councils and committees as assigned
- Keeps up with current trends and issues in librarianship via professional reading and participation in library-related listservs, webinars, etc.
- Attends off-site professional workshops, trainings, and conferences.
