Under the direct supervision of the Library Director, this position performs a variety of professional services that are reflective of, and responsive to, community needs and assets. This Librarian manages assigned collections to meet the educational, recreational and information needs of the community. The successful candidate will develop collaborative services in partnership with community members and organizations with an emphasis on inclusion and equity. They will also serve as the point-person for library technology and facilitate training for patrons and colleagues. This position includes evening and weekend work, with a regular work week of Tuesday-Saturday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provides direct customer service to library patrons in person, over the phone, and via email in response to inquiries of varied complexity including in-depth readers’ advisory, informational and general service questions.
• Assists and educates patrons in the use of library technology and resources.
• Liaises with the City’s IT team to maintain effective operations of public-facing and internal equipment and software including but not limited to desktops, laptops, and print management software.
• Forecasts future technology needs for the library; makes recommendations to and partners with library administrators to train and support staff in continuous learning.
• Selects materials for assigned collections based on knowledge of community and/or target audience information needs and interests. Maintains physical and digital collections with an emphasis on user-experience and accessibility.
• Practices good stewardship of City funding by tracking expenditures and adhering to established accounting procedures.
• Serves on a team of website administrators to maintain library content and promote access to library resources.
• Responds to and resolves patron issues with compassion and professionalism. Enforces patron code of conduct equitably and refers inquiries or issues to other staff as appropriate.
