A successful candidate will have a positive attitude; a desire to help people; the ability to learn new technology and adapt well to change; strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be reliable. Familiarity with Spanish or Portuguese highly desirable. Retail experience is a plus.
Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to receive, understand, interpret and carry out library policies and procedures, one year experience in customer service, flexibility in scheduling including regularly assigned evening and weekend hours. Must be capable of operating computers and various pieces of office equipment, must have the ability to move around the facility; walking, sitting, bending, climbing, kneeling, carrying, stooping, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The Marlborough Public Library's seeking an enthusiastic, team player for a part-time (19 hours/week) job to join our tightknit Circulation Department. This position is part of the MMEA union and includes paid sick time and vacation. The Marlborough Public Library opened a new building less than a year ago so it's an exciting time to join our team!
Duties include providing excellent customer service and hospitality, providing positive outcomes to patron issues, checking in and out library materials including Museum Passes and Library of Things, providing assistance with printing and express computers, answering the telephone, filling hold requests, shelving, and other related duties.
This position is part of the MMEA union and includes paid sick time and vacation. 4 step raises starting at 6 months
