Library Assistant II Part Time

The Minnesota State Law Library is pleased to announce an opening for a Library Assistant. This is a permanent part time position performing clerical library work. Work involves performing a wide range of library tasks that support the mission of the library. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Library Division Supervisor.
This is a part-time, permanent position and is classified as a Library Assistant II. This position will work during normal business hours, Monday-Friday. Work will be performed on-site in the Minnesota State Library at the Minnesota Judicial Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Specific work hours will be determined when a job offer is extended for this position.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES:
The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform:
· Shelve library materials
· Oversee overdue materials including checking the shelves for materials and following-up with patrons who have overdue materials
· Review and redact briefs for uploading to the library’s online brief archive
· Update library materials with pocket parts
· Use scanners to digitize books, papers, and microfiche
· Shelf read to maintain correct order of materials
· Perform database maintenance
· Other projects as needed
This position is not benefit eligible, but does earn pro-rated vacation and sick time.
We are interested in hiring a library school student or someone interested in the library field.
The State Law Library is part of the Minnesota Judicial Branch and serves the appellate courts, but is also open to the public.
