Springfield City Library has an exciting leadership opportunity waiting for just the right candidate. The new Manager of Technical Services and Collection Development will be based at our Central Library and oversee the work of cataloging and acquisitions workers as well as manage our significant collections budget, including endowments and trusts, of approximately $750,000. They will take a lead role in developing collections of all formats, coordinating the work of multiple selectors. Long-term, they will be involved in revising our Collection Development Policy after our new Strategic Priorities are adopted (2025). The annual salary is $68,030.04. Candidates should have an ALA-accredited MLS, strong collection development knowledge, some familiarity with cataloging, and experience in supervising staff and managing the work of a team. Bilingual abilities desirable (English and Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Somali, Vietnamese, or other community language). The City of Springfield has a residency requirement and allows new hires up to a year to establish residency.
