Job Description

The Broomfield Library, Arts, History & CSU Extension (LAHE) has an opening for a 32 hours/week part-time, benefitted Teen Librarian. We are seeking a high performing, innovative and team-focused individual with library programming experience who is excited about reaching tween and teen audiences.

  • Skilled in evaluating programs and responding to patron interests
  • Confident in getting the word out via social media marketing for library programs
  • Capacity to exercise considerable initiative and sound judgment, and to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Considerable knowledge of reader interest and ability levels
  • Enthusiastic about providing excellent customer service in alignment with organizational expectations
  • Involved in the larger professional library community and aware of programming trends
  • Excited to join a team of children library programmers with opportunities to collaborate with the makerspace library programmers
  • Enjoys varied work tasks; flexible and adaptable
  • Passionate about engaging new audiences for library programming
  • Experienced with library programming and library outreach for tweens and teens
  • Creative and organized; efficient at event planning with a focus on impact

Additional Information & Requirements

Formal or informal experience developing and leading programs and community engagement efforts for tweens and teens in a public library setting or related field - one year required, three years preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Teen public library programming experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or relevant work experience on a year-for-year basis required. Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited university preferred.
