This Wyoming State Library (WSL) professional position leads statewide youth services consulting, training, and outreach efforts; co-coordinates the access, evaluation, and selection of licensed eResources, learning tools, and other products made available through the GoWYLD resources portal; provides training and support in the use of licensed eResources; co-curates the WSL LibGuides platform; and provides library development consultation services as library needs arise. This position assists in achieving the mission of the Wyoming State Library: to promote statewide library development, foster library cooperation, and provide reliable information to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
- Acts as lead consultant for Youth Services related questions, projects, and programs.
- Creates documentation and manages information in the GoWYLD portal.
- Coordinates with the WSL Marketing team to promote eResources.
- Uses vendor interfaces to run statistical reports, and update other settings related to
patron experiences. - Liaises with the University of Wyoming to monitor the availability of shared resources.
- Provides updates to libraries about known issues and announcements.
- Oversees, organizes, and maintains the GoWYLD LibGuides platform.
- Maintains resource information coverages in Serials Solutions A to Z.
- Works with other WSL staff to maintain, improve, and assist with technical issues for
access to GoWYLD resources. - Works with other WSL staff to integrate access to resources in other public interfaces
such as Aspen Discovery. - Serves as a consultant to public, school, and academic libraries.
- Acts as liaison to various Wyoming State Library partner organizations.
- Answers both basic and complex reference inquiries.
- Collaborates with other librarians on complex reference inquiries.
- Staff the service desk as needed.
Coordinates and promotes statewide efforts surrounding the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP).
Coordinates training and continuing education opportunities for youth services staff.

Preference will be given to applicants with a Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS).
Preference will be given to experience in performing reference interviews, state and federal document research, library outreach, and eResources management.
