The Montrose Regional Library District is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Adult Services Collection Development Librarian to join our CORPS department (Cataloging, Ordering, Receiving, and Processing Services).
We value candidates who can keep a confident and positive attitude while navigating the public library environment; possess strong communication and organizational skills; and are comfortable with people of all ages and from all backgrounds. An ideal candidate will possess an interest in providing material to a diverse community; and the ability to perform more physically intensive duties, which can include lifting and pushing heavy materials, bending and kneeling. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Due to the nature of this position, we prefer a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited university and one year of varied and robust experience in a public library, preferably in collection development. We offer benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement; and vacation, personal, and sick leave, in addition to holidays. The starting rate for this position is $41,700 annually, with an additional increase for a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited university; we will also provide an increase for proficiency in Spanish.
