About Our Department
The mission of DPL’s Digital Inclusion (DI) department is to leverage the resources of DPL and community partners to bridge the digital divide for marginalized communities and connect everyone in Denver with the technology access and education they need to thrive. DI oversees and coordinates a variety of technology education opportunities and our system of six ideaLAB makerspaces and helps inform policies and procedures related to DPL’s public computers and circulating technology collection.
About This Position
As DPL’s Technology Education Program Manager, your job will be to plan, coordinate and evaluate technology education services and programs for library customers and staff across the entire Denver Public Library system. DPL’s Technology Education services currently include a wide variety of technology classes, drop in sessions, appointments and a Digital Navigator program. Your primary work location will be the Central Library, however, you will also spend time at other DPL locations and some of your work may be done remotely.
You will work closely with the Digital Inclusion Manager, Digital Navigator Program Administrator, and other DPL staff throughout the system to ensure that DPL’s technology education offerings meet the practical needs of customers and staff and are focused on advancing digital equity in our community.
Specific duties include:
● Plan, coordinate and evaluate Technology Education services and programs and analyze usage and trends.
● Ensure that DPL’s Technology Education services and programs meet
community needs and advance digital equity.
● Assess the impact and effectiveness of the library's Technology Education
services and programs and continuously refine and improve them.
● Lead development and implementation of customer and staff technology training strategies, curriculum, instruction plans and materials.
● Develop, document and share best practices and guidelines for Technology
Education at DPL.
● Meet with community groups and other agencies to plan new technology
education programs and get input about the program’s direction.
● Collect and maintain useful and accurate data about DPL’s Technology
Education programs.
● Identify potential partners and program participants, and plan strategies for
reaching target audiences.
● Work closely with other library departments, branch libraries, and community
organizations, to build relationships that support and expand technology
education services and programs throughout the City of Denver.
● Help develop the DI department's budget and strategic goals.
● Supervise DPL’s Digital Navigator Program Administrator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field.
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of full performance professional level experience developing, implementing, and administering programs.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education for all classifications.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
