Lincoln City Libraries is seeking to hire an enthusiastic and qualified individual as Librarian for the Jane Pope Geske Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors, located at Bennett Martin Public Library in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. This position administers the services of the Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors, which includes curating the collection of books, manuscripts, and digital resources; promoting the mission of the Heritage Room through programs, talks, and collaborations; and supporting and acting as liaison between Lincoln City Libraries and the Nebraska Literary Heritage Association (NLHA). This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to provide outstanding public service.
Hours: Part time; 20 hours per week. Sundays (2:00pm- 5:00 pm), Monday – Thursday (12:00pm – 3:00pm), and 5 varied hours per week. Fridays and Saturdays are usually off.
Qualifications: Master’s degree from an ALA accredited library science program and at least 2 years of experience working in a library or customer service setting; or equivalent.
