
The Wyoming State Library has an opening for a Systems Librarian to provide technical support for the
103 member libraries in the statewide WYLD consortium. This position is perfect for the candidate who has experience administering Integrated Library Systems and Library Services Platforms with an emphasis on circulation and online catalogs, demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude when working with library staff and coworkers, can creatively solve problems and negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner, can multitask, prioritize, and demonstrate innovation and flexibility, and is comfortable providing training using a variety of methods for users with varying levels of technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications include a Master’s in Library Science or equivalent from an ALA accredited institution, at least two years of post-MLS professional-level work supporting an integrated library system, preferably SirsiDynix Symphony, and related library software, effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, demonstrated ability to work with people with varying levels of technical skills, as well as the ability to make technology understandable to the library community, ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently, experience creating technical documentation and in delivering in-person and virtual training, familiarity with library technology standards and protocols such as AACR2, MARC, and FRBR, and proficiency with web development tools and one or more scripting languages such as HTML/CSS.
