Job Description
Are you an experienced, energetic, and passionate administrator? Are you committed to quality and cutting edge public library service? If so, we need you for our Library Branch Manager position at the Philip S. Miller Library in downtown Castle Rock, CO (a beautiful suburb just south of Denver and north of Colorado Springs). What we need: Someone with a passion for librarianship, and a yearning for excellence and innovation. A manager with strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and excellent change agent skills. We care about our employees, so you must be excel as a leader and colleague.

Starting salary will be commensurate with experience, with a review in 6 months. Generous benefits available.Our ideal candidate will be a creative and articulate professional who enjoys working in a dynamic team-focused environment where change and growth are constants. You must have at least five years of progressively responsible public library administrative experience and at least two years of supervisory experience. Top candidates must be strongly committed to providing excellent patron service, and must be a proven innovator in the area of community involvement. Strong leadership skills are required, in addition to experience with effectively leading, mentoring, managing and supporting a large staff (almost 70 employees). You also must have experience with successfully managing a budget. You must demonstrate familiarity with current library practices, trends, philosophies and the latest in library technology.
The Community
Our district was rated in the top ten of the Hennen Annual Public Library ratings. In the first six months of 2006, we completely converted our district's over 400,000 materials to an RFID based circulation system. Our district has built or renovated at least one library every year for the past 15 years. Our spacious new facility boasts a collection of about 140,000 items and serves a community of 35,000 residents. Our county has grown by 41.9% since 2000. We are one of the fastest growing areas in the state. Our county's climate is known as among the nation's best, with more than 300 days of sunshine per year!
