Job Description
This is a 12-month library management position reporting to the Dean of University Libraries. The person in this position oversees the University Libraries' networked and microcomputer applications and the Libraries' ILS; supervises two full-time staff; coordinates related staff training and continuing education, works closely with staff in the Computer Services & Telecommunications departments, identifies emerging technologies that will enhance library services, assumes other management duties as directed and is responsible for management of the University Library in the absence of the Dean.
Additional Info & Requirements
Five years professional experience maintaining an integrated library system is required. Experience with ExLibris Voyager System, as well as multi-server environments, is preferred.
The Community
The Libraries of the University of South Alabama consist of the University Library and the Charles M. Baugh Biomedical Library, both on the main campus, as well as the Mitchell College of Business Learning Resource Center, the University Archives, the Medical Center Library and the Children’s and Women’s Hospital Library in downtown Mobile. The University Library is a Federal Depository Library.
