The ideal candidate will provide leadership in a team environment, while demonstrating adaptability and openness. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with the District Director and the managers of the four other county libraries (Crawford, Cedaredge, Hotchkiss, Paonia). Under the general supervision of the District Director, the library manager is responsible for administration of the library and library services, including supervising a staff of 6, training and evaluation, planning, budgeting, collection development, and facilities maintenance. The manager provides leadership and linkages within the community to make the library a center for lifelong learning, educational and recreational pursuits. The manager shares evening and weekend duties with staff. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. First time managers and those earning an MLS degree are welcome to apply.Evidence of strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills; strong service orientation; valid driver's license. Located on Colorado's beautiful Western Slope of the Rockies, the Delta Public Library serves the City of Delta (pop. 8,500) in cooperation with four other libraries in Delta county. The Carnegie building, dating back to 1911 was expanded in 1984 and 2005. The city has beautiful views of Grand Mesa and other surrounding mountains. The Delta Public Library serves approximately 1,500 patrons weekly, offering public use computers, internet access, online databases, and programming for all ages in addition to the usual array of library services and materials.
