Job Description
1. Designs, develops and maintains the Library website, establishing overall navigational layout and structure as well as individual design graphical elements. This includes working with various committees and library representatives to create an understanding of interrelationships of website components and develop consensus on content, size and aesthetics of the website. (Approximately 40% of time)
2. Establishes and facilitates Web Advisory Committee meetings to ensure constructive feedback on evolution of the website and awareness of technology advancements.
3. Advises Library departments in the development and maintenance of individual pages within the greater website and ensuresup-to-date content through the tracking of usage statistics, events calendars and aging of information.
4. Works with Patron Interface Team and appropriate vendors in development and maintenance ofpatron in-house electronic screens to assure easy access, functionality and site security.
5. Works with library representatives, contractors and vendors in the development of special projects involving electronic access to the Library website such as interactive screen usage and development of wireless access for Library patrons.
6. Monitors web feedback e-mail: replies to patron comments and questions, or forwards to appropriate library personnel in a timely manner.

Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the City.
Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment. Uses all required safety equipment and follows all safety regulations, policies and procedures. Reports all accidents and damage to City property.
Responsible for knowing and complying with all City and department policies; participating in professional trainings and development; and adhering to attendance and workplace attire policies.

This includes working closely with staff in the integration of related library electronic resources into a coherent, organized presentation, with an emphasis on accessibility and ease-of-use, evidencing innovative style techniques coupled with easy maintainability
HR Info
College degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum of two years of professional web page design and implementation experience. Demonstrated proficiency with HTML, FrontPage2000, Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, or any other web-authoring tools, supplemented by a knowledge of JAVA SCRIPTING, design concepts (graphical user interface, color management, image formatting, etc.) and graphic tools (Photoshop, Quark, etc.). Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Courteous and effective communications skills and proven ability to work in a team environment
