Job Description
Responsible for the daily operation of the Special Collections and Archive area. Select and acquire books and materials according to the Special Collection development policies by means of purchase and gifts. Acquire, process, preserve and make available for research the archival records of Mesa State College. Provide appropriate indexing and bibliographic records for materials housed in Special Collections and Archives. Produce brochures, bibliographies, guides and other public relations materials relating to Special Collections. Evaluate information resources for inclusion or withdrawal from library collections in assigned liaison areas. Participates in staffing the library's reference desk, including some evenings and weekends. Trains and supervises student workers assigned to Special Collections. AA/EOE, committed to a culturally diverse staff and student body.Ability to process special and archival materials, a demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and assess projects, and strong service orientation. Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication skills required. Experience developing digital collections and training or experience with maps is preferred.
