DISTANCE LEARNING / REFERENCE LIBRARIAN The University of Wyoming Libraries is seeking applicants for a Distance Learning/Reference Librarian position. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the Libraries Outreach program while working within the Reference and Instruction Department. Provide off-campus library services to UW faculty and students including bibliographic instruction and reference service in accordance with ACRL Distance Learning Guidelines. Incorporate technology with traditional library resources and service philosophy to support distance education programs/ courses offered by the University of Wyoming. Coordinate, publicize and assess off-campus library services. Provide campus reference and instruction services, including night and weekend work. Pursue an active and ongoing program of professional development, scholarship and service. Report to the Head of Reference and Instruction. REQUIRED: Required qualifications: MLS from an ALA accredited institution. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other campus units. PREFERRED: Academic library experience. Familiarity with asynchronous teaching and learning methods. Work experience or academic background in instructional design and instructional technology. APPLICATION AND SALARY: Review of applications will begin on April 12th, 2007, and will continue until the position is filled or the search is terminated. Minimum salary is $37,000 dependent on qualifications and experience; 12-month appointment, 22 days vacation; sick leave, group health insurance, state and TIAA-CREF retirement plans, no state income tax.
