Job Description
ALA/MLS or completion by start date. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills, including demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office and Web 2.0. Willingness to travel occasionally to off-campus sites and to work a flexible schedule as required. Experience in marketing, delivering, and assessing instruction and reference services in a distance learning environment is preferred. Will require collaboration with other library units to create, implement, and promote services for off-campus learners who attend SAU centers throughout Michigan or are enrolled in SAUonline programs. This position will work with the Education and Reference Librarians to coordinate reference, instruction, and information literacy assistance to off-campus students and faculty,and will integrate technologies such as social networking, virtual reference, mobile technologies, & other Web 2.0 applications to support instructional and research activities for remote learners. Important facets of this position include the marketing of existingand newly created services and the assessment of these services for continuous improvement.
