Job Description
The primary responsibilities of the person in this position are to develop, implement, coordinate, maintain, and analyze a social media program, including maintaining and designing content for the internal and external website in a collaborative environment. The focus of the position is to serve the Laramie County Library System (LCLS) emphasizing services available, recruitment and development, and to improve virtual communications with the public.

The individual applying for this position must be a team player, innovative and adaptable. As the library’s first Social Media Coordinator, this person will be challenged to mold and grow the position. With the website as the hub of the library’s social media presence, the person in this position will develop, implement, coordinate, maintain, and analyze the social media program. Embracing LCLS’s mission, function and purpose will be critical to success. The person in this position is expected to be the expert in the areas of social media including staying on top of new developments and how they may or may not be implemented by the library.
In addition to web/social media maintenance and design, the individual in this position will lead social media groups comprised of staff members who contribute content. Social media policies and procedures are established but should be re-evaluated.
The person will be involved in various aspects of CMR including development of graphics for web and social media and participating in the creation of and adhering to design standards. The person will need strong relationship-building skills as much of the work will require interaction with, information from, and support from staff members from other library divisions and the public.Must be self motivated, creative and organized. The successful applicant will have good time management skills and the ability to meet frequent deadlines. Past experience working in a public environment and serving others is helpful.

LCLS serves a population of more than 92,000 through Laramie County Library (LCL) in Cheyenne, two rural branches, and a bookmobile. The library system has a staff of 57 FTE, an annual budget of almost $5 million, circulation of 793,000 annually and a collection of 338,000 volumes. LCLS offers eBooks, eAudio books, and multiple databases through membership in a statewide cooperative.
