Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Library and Arts Director, provides leadership, planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of library literacy services with a strong customer focus, including the areas of adult one-on-one tutoring, jail-based instruction, GED testing and instruction, Reading Buddies for children, computer-assisted instruction, resource materials collection for adult new readers, resource materials collection for instructors, and workshops in art and writing. Implements BoulderReads! mission of helping people discover the power and joy of reading.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree and at least one year of paid or volunteer experience working in a human service agency, nonprofit organization, and/or public library; at least one year of experience recruiting, supervising, training, and retaining volunteers; experience administering the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS), Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and other assessment tools measuring adult reading and language skills; knowledge of the Boulder area including, but not limited to, demographics, social needs, and availability of resources to meet those needs; bicultural or bilingual background (particularly of Latino or Asian background)
