**This position averages approximately 23 hours per week; some evenings and weekends required.** The Librarian performs professional work assisting patrons in the discovery and use of library materials and technology. Coordinates collection maintenance in designated areas. Develops and promotes community outreach and programming. The listed examples of work are not intended to be all-inclusive. They may be modified with additions, deletions, or changes as necessary. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responds to the needs of customers and other employees. Responsible for the design and implementation of program areas within budget parameters, including outreach services to the community. Promotes use of library materials. Reviews collection for removals and replacements. Acts as a resource for non-professional staff through reference and readers advisory consultation, mentoring, and training. Provides reference service and reader’s advisory assistance to patrons. Assesses patrons needs and instructs them in making effective use of Library resources. Assists patrons in use of technological resources including the Internet. Acts as Librarian in Charge during evening and weekend hours or in the absence of the Library Director or managers. Other Duties & Responsibilities Promotes use of library materials through display, handouts, programs, etc. Maintains supply inventory for work area. Trains and works with volunteers. May oversee the Internet desk. Assists patrons with the use of the Internet. May represent the Library at community events and meetings. The City of Englewood is centrally located within the Denver Metropolitan area. Just south of Denver, Englewood is ideally situated for citizens, business people, and visitors. Englewood offers a small town atmosphere of community with all the benefits of a larger metropolitan area nearby.
