Job Description
The William M. White Business Library at the Leeds School of Business is seeking a Branch Operations Manager to oversee daily services of this busy facility. This position will ensure that the staffing, scheduling, training, work assignments, procedure setting, performance evaluation, payroll preparation, building and facilities operations, library instruction, and overall work flow of the unit is properly maintained. Provide circulation and reference service to meet patron research needs. Job Responsibilities: The Branch Operations Manager anticipates the needs of the library’s daily workflow and patrons and analyzes unit statistics to evaluate service and facilities’ needs. Primary responsibilities are in the everyday management of the circulation desk and its staff, including handling inquiries and resolving problems for patrons and staffing and supervising library technicians and student assistants. This position will also take on responsibilities in the area of library instruction, focusing on the coordination of the sessions and participating in the instruction team. Other duties include providing analyses of library collections and services, reference assistance to patrons, assistance in creating web site content, and coordinating with facilities management. This position has a regular Monday-Friday schedule, with some flexibility. The Branch Operations Manager may be required to work occasional additional hours in order to ensure the smooth operations of the circulation desk and facility. This position is exempt from overtime.
Additional Info & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Communications, or Library Services or related field and two years of professional experience in reference services. A Master’s degree in Library Science or a Master’s of Library and Information Science may substitute for the two years of professional work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified. Staff scheduling experience. Experience in a business library, or interest in business topics. Experience with Innovative circulation module desirable.

Department Information: Located within the Leeds School of Business, the William M. White Business Library serves a large population of graduate and undergrad students and is constantly busy with patrons. Its collection includes, but is not limited to, study and research materials such as management and administration, accounting, advertising, banking, finance, small business, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, marketing, and real estate. Also included are some works in the behavioral sciences, quantitative methodology, economics and computer applications. This library is open daily, excepting campus holidays.
