Madison Public Library seeks two dynamic individuals to lead neighborhood libraries and to be part of an innovative management team. You will guide and motivate staff to actively engage the community. You will develop sustainable programming that utilizes staff and community expertise. You will build relationships and establish collaborative opportunities guided by Madison Public Library's mission, vision and strategic direction.
Library Supervisors promote and plan for delivery of library services to significant underserved populations, requiring special attention to cultural and social diversity. You will participate in Neighborhood Resource Teams, coordinating services with other city agencies; you will partner with non-profits, business and other community organizations.

Note: The two current vacancies responsible for daily operation and activities are at the Goodman South Madison Library, and the Hawthorne/Lakeview Libraries. This recruitment, however, may be used to fill vacancies arising at other library locations.
Training and Experience:
Four years of experience performing responsible professional library work as a librarian including experience performing a wide variety of library-related tasks. Such experience would normally be gained after graduation from an accredited library school with a master's degree in library or information science. Other combinations of training, schooling, and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
