The Reference and Instruction Librarian provides in-person and virtual information, research, and reference services; plans, teaches and assesses information literacy instruction in collaboration with other instruction librarians and/or faculty; develops web and print based instructional materials; serves as liaison to academic departments; participates in collection development; locates and creates digital content to support academic instruction; explores, evaluates and encourages deployment of emergent technologies into library programs and services; compiles reference and/or library statistics; participates in public relations and assessment functions. Works on other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master's degree
- Two or more years of work experience in a library
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing in-person and virtual information, research, and reference services.
- Experience teaching information literacy in a classroom environment.
- Experience with patrons from diverse ethnic, socio-economic, cultural, and disability background or conditions.
- Experience implementing emergent information technologies.
- Experience implementing emergent instructional models.
- Experience assessing library reference services, instruction, and resources.
- Effective collaboration with library and non-library personnel and departments.
- Demonstrated effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
