The Jefferson County Library IT Department supports and maintains library operations, staff, and facilities to ensure our Patrons and Staff have equal access to electronic information utilizing progressive technology and that IT services are operating smoothly while developing and aligning the Library to 21st Century library and technology operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
This position is a member of the library's senior management team. The SMT is responsible for the overall planning, policy creation, budgeting, direction, and delivery of the library's work plan and current and long range plans. This position is tasked with the direction, planning and operation of the Information Technology department of the Jefferson County Public Library. This includes responsibility and oversight of computer services and applications, systems, networks, security and communications for the libraries and administration. The Director also sets the vision and goals for the library's technological efforts, research and implementation of projects. This position supervises and directs the work of the Information Technology staff. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Information Technology or Business Administration or directly related field.
• Six years work experience in leadership/administrative public library experience for system-wide services at a multi-location library
• Six years progressively responsible management and supervisory public library experience.
• Three years of experience in managing a department, preferably an IT department, involving direct supervision of staff.
• Experience in developing and overseeing a budget..
Offer of employment contingent on criminal history, MVR check, and education verification.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid driver's license. If from out of state, must obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date. In order to be approved, must have no major violations in the past three years.
