Loudoun County (VA) Public Library is currently seeking an energetic, forward-thinking, customer-focused individual for the position of Branch Manager. Located just 30 miles west of Washington, DC, Loudoun County Public Library is the information center of the community providing access to innovative technologies and a full range of library services and resources for the citizens of Loudoun County. This position will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, assuring high productivity and maintaining high staff morale at a large branch library. The successful candidate should be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, innovative ideas and awareness of emerging trends, technologies and best practices in public library services. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, customers and the community. The position is supervised by the Deputy Director.
Successful candidate will undergo criminal and credit checks. DMV record check required.
Prefer prior experience as a Branch Manager including staff supervision and management of a physical facility. Prefer prior experience in multiple aspects of library branch operations such as collection management and program implementation. The schedule will vary, including nights and weekends. Requires a valid state driver's license.
