Summary: This position is responsible for creating, curating, compiling, and organizing information and research, and providing ACCE members with resources, data and examples to keep members informed on current issues and trends and best practices to facilitate their work. This position is required to staff regular work hours to service chat, email, and phone support requests. Outstanding customer service, professional writing experience, and research skills are a must for this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Director of Information and Research to improve, maintain and expand current, relevant, and high-quality research resources.
- Curate, maintain, and update resource pages for an organized and easily navigable structure for online information.
- Cultivate and make available best practices in chamber management.
- Promote and support a Q & A service for ACCE members (including, chat, email, phone, etc). Provide exemplary customer service to help members.
- Continuously build, expand, and promote the services and information provided in HERO: Help, Expertise, and Resources Online.
- Support ACCE staff, and provide training where appropriate, in providing excellent member service and in expanding ACCE’s resources. Work with staff to develop and update resources to achieve the association’s goals through a team effort.
- Create new research resources in individual topic areas and review/edit existing resource pages.
- Maintain positive relationships and respond to staff, members, prospective members, interested parties and others to ensure the highest quality of service and uphold ACCE’s mission.
- Research and write about topics and best practices of importance to ACCE members. Error free grammar, spelling and punctuation is required for this position.
- Support and contribute to the work of ACCE’s benchmarking surveys, polls, and data.
- Conduct webinars for members on the use and resources of HERO.
- Build relationships with members and outside organizations that share a work interest.
- Perform special projects as assigned.

General Skills:
- Exceptional organization skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Very strong technology skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Content Management System, survey software, and Constant Contact).
- Strong knowledge of information systems and structures preferred.
- Market research, content curation, and/or library cataloging skills preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to be gracefully flexible with project queues and demands.
- Ability to work independently to meet objectives and deadlines. Solid self-learning and self-direction skills are required.
- Training in surveys and data collection a plus.
- Interest and aptitude in identifying new solutions for improving research infrastructure a plus.
Reports To: Director of Information and Research
FLSA: Non-exempt
Work Schedule: Up to 29 hrs/week, hourly position, to be completed during 3-5 weekdays. This position supports the Director of Information and Research. ACCE is headquartered in Alexandria, VA. Open to full or partial remote work/telecommute situation.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, mid-range vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to change focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer including performing actions with repetitive motions. Approximately 98% of time is spent looking at a computer terminal.
Minimal travel is required. ACCE hosts an annual convention; staffing support and attendance may be required.
