The person selected for this position will have an exceptional opportunity to positively impact the lives of teen offenders. With guidance from a professional librarian, the Library Technician II assists with the daily operations of the library by providing public/school-type (not law) library service. The Library Technician II position requires no previous knowledge of corrections. Training in security procedures will be provided.2 years of college course work, including 12 semester hours of library science course work, may substitute for the 2 years of general library experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid State of Colorado Driver's License, have NO felony convictions, and successfully complete the DOC Basic Training Academy coursework in Canon City, including lecture/exam, a physical self-defense component, and AHA certification. Application process includes a urinalysis and background investigation for clearance to work in a correctional facility.
