
Assist library patrons at public desks in the Children's and Teen department. Interview patrons by telephone or electronic media or in person responding to service requests. Locate information in assigned area using electronic databases and resources, printed library materials, the Internet, or other tools. Recommend resources for children, teens, parents, and adults for the purposes of education, information, or recreational reading. Accompany patrons to approrpriate resources and instruct/assist patrons in the use of library resources both printed and computer based. Assist patrons of all ages with their devices and technology. Help to create attractive and diverse book displays and help create a safe space for children and their grown-ups. Assist with library programs for birth-17 year olds, including regular storytimes and outreach. Experience working and serving diverse populations and the Spanish speaking population is strongly desired. Spanish-English Bilingual skills proficiency strongly desired.
Two years of experience working in a public library or area related to specific assignment. Performance at this level requires advanced customer service skills, knowledge of library operations, and sufficient knowledge of early childhood literacy and childhood and adolescent development and knowledge of children's and teen literature. Spanish-English Bilingual skills proficiency strongly desired.
