Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Program Administrator assists with the Institute of Museum and Library Services grant project “Creating Communities: Digitizing Denver’s Historic Neighborhoods.” Handles rare and fragile archival materials to prepare them for scanning. Edits OCR documents, applies metadata and assists with the workflow and assignment of duties for digitization technicians. Scans archival materials.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of scanning procedures and archival practices. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work with a diverse group of people. Ability to thrive working in an environment with people from all backgrounds and age groups. Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and a sense of humor in working with customers, coworkers and community. Ability to creatively problem solve, negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Additional Info & Requirements
This is a fully benefited temporary position that will end on or before October 10, 2010 with potential for longer employment.
